The 39 App Store listing languages.

App Store Connect lets you write a separate listing for each of these locales: its own name, subtitle, keywords, description and screenshots. Each one is a new set of searches your app can show up in.

Where to start

If you localize nothing else, cover the big markets where people search in their own language: German, French, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil) and Italian.

English (UK), Canada and Australia are separate locales too. A listing tuned to British spelling and search terms is quick to write and often underused.

Localize the searchable fields first

The name, subtitle and keyword field are what Apple searches. Translate those first; a localized description and screenshots then help the people who find you convert.

Questions

How many languages does App Store Connect support?

39 listing locales, including English (US, UK, Canada, Australia), Spanish (Spain, Mexico), French (France, Canada), Portuguese (Brazil, Portugal) and Chinese (Simplified, Traditional).

Does localizing my listing need a localized app?

No. You can localize the store listing even if the app itself is only in English, though users are more likely to keep an app in their language.
